Position Overview

We are seeking professional, dependable, and service-oriented Security Officers to provide security and public safety support on a university campus. We partner directly with the University's Public Safety Department to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the campus community.

Security Officers serve as an important extension of the University's public safety operations. Officers are expected to maintain a professional presence, follow established post orders and university procedures, respond appropriately to incidents, and work collaboratively with University Public Safety personnel.

Essential Responsibilities

Depending on the assigned campus, post, and operational needs, responsibilities may include:

  • Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and other assigned locations.

  • Perform vehicle patrols and transports as directed.

  • Maintain a visible security presence and monitor assigned areas for safety and security concerns.

  • Respond to calls for service, alarms, suspicious activity, safety concerns, and other incidents within the scope of the assignment.

  • Monitor access points, doors, buildings, and restricted areas.

  • Assist with emergency situations and contact University Public Safety, emergency services, or other appropriate personnel when necessary.

  • Provide directions and general assistance to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and members of the campus community.

  • Complete accurate incident reports, activity logs, and required documentation.

  • Enforce applicable site policies and procedures while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.

  • Support special events, campus activities, escorts, and other public safety functions as assigned.

  • Communicate effectively with University Public Safety, supervisors, coworkers, and campus personnel.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding incidents, investigations, students, employees, and other sensitive information.

  • Perform other security and public safety support duties as assigned.

Campus Assignment & Operational Flexibility

Officers must be willing to work on either campus based on operational needs. This is an expectation of the position. Assignments, posts, and schedules may change based on staffing requirements, university activities, special events, emergencies, or other operational considerations.

Candidates must be willing to work the required schedule and report to the assigned campus or post as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required for positions involving vehicle patrols or transportation duties.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately to changing situations.

  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and timely reports.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a public safety team.

  • Ability to successfully complete all required background screening and employment requirements.

Required Screening & Training

Selected candidates must be willing and able to complete all required screening, clearances, and training associated with the university assignment, which may include:

  • Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) requirements.

  • ChildLine clearance.

  • FBI fingerprinting required for school employees.

  • Additional university or client-required background checks or clearances.

  • Required security and site-specific training.

Officers must commit to and successfully complete the required training schedule determined upon placement. Training requirements may vary based on the assigned campus, position, and operational needs.

Full-Time Employee Benefits

Eligible full-time employees may receive:

  • Health Insurance: Available after 60 days of employment for employees working 30+ hours per week, at minimal employee cost.

  • Dental & Vision: Provided at no cost when enrolled in the company health plan.

  • 401(k): Eligibility after one year of employment.

  • Optional Accidental Life Insurance

  • Optional Short-Term Disability Insurance
Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements, plan terms, and company policies.

What We Look For

We are looking for individuals who take pride in providing dependable security and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, observant, safety-minded, and comfortable working in a dynamic campus environment.

Prior security, military, law enforcement, public safety, customer service, or related experience is preferred but may not be required depending on the assignment.

All employment is subject to applicable background checks, clearances, licensing requirements, client requirements, and company policies.

If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to campus safety while working alongside a professional University Public Safety Department, we encourage you to apply.
